True Confidence: Connecting to Your Soul for Unshakeable Self-Assurance

We recently got real about something super important on our podcast: true confidence. We're not talking about the fake, superficial stuff. We mean the deep, soul-level confidence that can completely transform how you show up in the world.

So what is true confidence really? It's not about wearing the trendiest outfit or having the "perfect" body (whatever that even means!). That kind of confidence is fleeting and based on other people's opinions. True confidence radiates from within. It's an inner knowing, a connection to your authentic self.

C shared how clothes are the perfect example. If you wear something just because someone else said you'd look good in it, that's their confidence projected onto you. But if you pick out something that makes your soul sing, that's true confidence shining through, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

When you're acting from a place of fear and seeking external validation, you're out of alignment. Trying to fit society's mold of "hot girl summer" or following the latest guru's prescription for the "ideal" you - that path leads to disconnection from your real self.

True confidence means listening to that inner voice, that eternal part of you that just knows. It's not always easy, especially when the world is telling you to be someone you're not. Both of us can definitely relate to trying to force ourselves into boxes that felt totally wrong.

We've found that confidence is a journey of the mind, body and soul. For Alex, challenging herself physically and proving to herself she was capable built confidence. Learning to detach her self-worth from her body image after a major health scare was another key step.

But even after working on her mindset and treating her body well, something was still missing. That's when the spiritual piece fell into place. Connecting to her soul, to something greater than her physical self, was the final ingredient in unshakeable confidence.

Some practical tips we've found helpful:

  • Make choices aligned with your integrity and higher self, even when it's hard. Those are the decisions that expand you.
  • Reframe negative self-talk. Focus on gratitude for what your body enables you to do vs nitpicking its "flaws".
  • Remember that you are so much more than your physical body. Connect to your eternal essence.
  • Start small. Confidence is built through repeated aligned actions, not grand gestures.

Above all, true confidence comes from lived experience. You have to walk through the discomfort and inauthenticity to get to the other side. Honor yourself for being on the path and just keep taking the next right step for you.

We'd love to hear from you! What does true confidence look and feel like in your world? How do you connect to that inner knowing? Let's continue this conversation and support each other in stepping into our most empowered selves.
